Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to the soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don't bother concealing your thievery – celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: "It's not where you take things from – it's where you take them to."
wow! thanks for those suggestions! they r very specific & i can surely act on it.
true, here most of the photos have very low depth of field. I've Canon S5 IS (not DSLR) & it doesn't give me such sharp focused subject & blur background (to that extent)
but using macro or zoom, i think i can achieve that effect.
lets see, i'll do some more experiments! thank you so much for your help. good to interact with you!
btw, are you a photographer by profession?
hi steffen, thanks a lot for the valuable information! i'll upload some pics on flickr very soon & send u the link.
what u said is right, i can see that here judges have quite different taste. I've seen many pics on flickr (mostly by Indian & US photographers) but here, the style is absolutely different! I've to learn a lot ! Uploading rejected photos in the forum is a good idea, i'll do it soon. Thanks again! tc.
) yeah, i understood. google translator helped me!
