"Eine dritte, dem Feldmaikäfer sehr ähnliche Art, ist Melolontha pectoralis. Er ist sehr selten geworden und nur noch vereinzelt in Mitteleuropa anzutreffen. Es gibt nur noch hin und wieder Meldungen aus Südwestdeutschland.
