We've often heard that while we've got great photos, searching and finding them can occasionally be a weak point. The search results are sometimes imprecise and there are occasionally photos that appear in the results don't fit the entered search terms at all. This is frustrating for everyone who uses the site, and for this reason we want to do something the help you find fantastic photos, that more closely match your query.
In short, this means that starting today we're going to start editing search results. Our keyword team are going to add this work to their keyword catalog work and remove bad hits from search results. We're going to start correcting the biggest search results first. So for example, in the search results for "cat," we're going to remove any photo that has nothing do with cats. We'll be removing the keywords that don't match the photo. Our corrections will only deal with descriptive keywords, and only in rare cases will we look at the conceptual keywords.
All in all, we're going to be careful and consisten with the keyword review. No one should worry that we're going to run roughshod over your keywords. We just want people to find your fantastic photos with little trouble. That is, after all, the treatment your photos deserve.
If you come across bad search results please keywords[at]photocase.com send us an email Forum
