Something to look forward to.

After a long break in communication, we’re back again with a little bit of detail on what we’ve been working on so far this year. The last update was a while ago, and the rule is: the longer the time between updates, the bigger the update! The main thing in this round is the addition of sexy new languages. Photocase’s German and English will be joined by French and Spanish. But what’s really exciting is that it’s not just cosmetic, but the language add-ons extend all the way to the backend… this means no more manual translation before searching. Good morning, Buenos Dias, Bonjour, Guten morgen.
The Terms of Use still need to be extended and adapted to reflect this journey through the language barrier. New license models are also on the way which allow for a wider spectrum of uses for the Photo User. Not to worry, Photographers will have the choice as to which licenses are to be available for each of their photos. Some of you may have complicated licensing screens swimming before your eyes, but don’t worry, we’re going to keep it as simple as possible.
In addition to tons of other tiny little fixes, we’re working on an API that will let you write applications for Photocase. One of the first programs for example is an upload tool for photographers that, once installed on your machine, will allow for one click uploading. If anyone would like to help testing this, you can apply to api(at)photocase.com
The Magazine didn’t escape our attentions either. Look forward to a new layout. If you want to write for us, please send an email to magazine(at)photocase.com. Michael, our Managing Editor, will gladly help you.
For those of you love to shop, our merchandise store is almost ready to go, and you can help give it a little push. Those of you who can pull t-shirt designs out of thin air with your mouse, send your mock-ups to info@photocase.com. If we like it, then we’ll put it in the shop and then you’ll get to see people draped in your design. Any proceeds from such a co-operation will naturally be shared. And there’s not just t-shirts. Oh no. There’s plenty more than just t-shirts.
A contest is coming, and this time we’re serious.
Summer is also on the way and we have a small event bubbling up in our heads. We can’t say exactly when or where it will occur, other than it will be after May and in Berlin. We’ll give you plenty of advance warning for registration.
So there it is. We don’t have an exact release date, but rest assured, it isn’t far off.
