true, here most of the photos have very low depth of field. I've Canon S5 IS (not DSLR) & it doesn't give me such sharp focused subject & blur background (to that extent)
but using macro or zoom, i think i can achieve that effect.

what u said is right, i can see that here judges have quite different taste. I've seen many pics on flickr (mostly by Indian & US photographers) but here, the style is absolutely different!
